Review: Kroll Show

If you don’t have anything planed this Wednesday around 10:30pm, after you put the kids to bed you might want to check out the Kroll Show. The Kroll Show is comedian, Nick Kroll’s lone show that premiered January 16, 2013 and has been presented with mixed reviews, but its one of those shows that get better with time, sort of like cheese or Gorge Clooney.

Nick Kroll is among one of my favorite comedians. He has helped write 4 episodes of one of the best comedy series, ‘The League’. In The League he also plays the role of the infamous Ruxin, a Jewish Lawyer who is married to a supermodel and lives to play in a fantasy football league with his buddies. If my synopsis doesn’t intrigue you, just know it is a VERY VERY funny show.

Anywho, I was never a big fan of one man sketch comedy shows, as they fell short on character development and proper story development, even if that story was as original as of those featured on the Chappelle Show. The Kroll Show picks up where all of those other shows left off. Nick is intent on creating a story for all his sketches and bringing his characters personality to the forefront, and he does a great Job portraying his characters. I really appreciate it whenever a show has a great story and a solid plot associated with it, the Kroll Show is no such show, but for a lone sketch comedy show it does quite well.
